In 1999, Nameless who was then a university student and held a night shift job in a bank made a call into Hits Not Homework.

This was a show on Captial Fm hosted by Muthoni Bwika, who was at the time running a music talent competition.

To his surprise, he won the competition, and because he was not well prepared, and didn’t want to disclose his real identity for fear of being reprimanded by his employer, called himself Nameless when Muthoni asked him his name on air.

His prize was a chance to record a song with the top producer Ted Josiah, with whom he recorded his first single Megarider.

For starters, a Megarider was a bus ticket that gave frequent bus users a special discount in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The original song Megarider is a satirical song about a Nairobi campus student who tries to make the little that he has worked for him.

It also talks about his challenges to focus in school, his challenges with girls, his love for fun & music, the pressures of society, his respect for his elders.

The remix is just a banger and fans are already in love with it.
