Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been urged to signed Crystal Palace youngster Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer by BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks.

Solskjaer is plotting a summer overhaul during what will be his first summer at the helm at Old Trafford, and right-back is expected to be a position he focuses on.

Veteran Antonio Valencia is expected to leave the club, while Ashley Young could find his game-time reduced next season and Diogo Dalot is still finding his way in English football.

That has led to Crooks urging the Norwegian to make a move for Wan-Bissaka, who has shone ever since breaking into the Palace team at the back end of last season.

He played seven games then, and has followed that up with 34 appearances in all competitions this season under Roy Hodgson.

He impressed again in the 1-0 win at Newcastle on Saturday, and that persuaded Crooks to pick him in his BBC Sport Team of the Week .

“You can’t go to St James’ Park, win 1-0, keep a clean sheet and not have at least one of your defenders in my team of the week,” Crooks wrote.

“I thought about James Tomkins, who has been consistent for Crystal Palace this season, often in very difficult circumstances. However, I’ve gone for my young player of the season, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

“He was superb yet again against Newcastle . This fabulous talent has not looked back since his Premier League debut at Fulham at the start of the season. This kid is a must for Manchester United .”

The 21-year-old has been linked with a switch to United, but it remains to be seen if they will make a move for him.
