Manchester City midfielder brutally dismisses Spurs ahead of UCL showdown

De Bruyne: I don´t care about Tottenham´s new stadium

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has fired in the first shot to Tottenham ahead of their UEFA Champions League showdown on Tuesday.

The Belgian midfielder thinks Spurs new stadium will not have any significant impact on their faceoff but admitted that they will have to be aware of the opposition quality players such as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.A

“I don’t care about the stadium,” he said. “I care about the team we play. Everybody talks about the stadium like it’s something special. Everybody has a stadium. Everybody has supporters. They’ll be up for it.

“I don’t think there will be any different. They’ll probably be a little bit more excited but in the end, it’s a stadium with supporters. If they go to Wembley with 80,000 or there with 62,000, it’s going to be the same. It’ll be a tough game but I think we’ll be alright.”

City beat Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final and will take on Watford when they return to Wembley next month.

De Bruyne and his team-mates beat Chelsea in a penalty shoot-out to lift the EFL Cup in February and remain locked in a battle for the Premier League title with Liverpool.
