Despite DP Ruto woes, Kalenjin leaders heed to Raila’s call

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga on Monday mobilisedKalenjin leaders to a meeting with him.

This is in light of clear political feuds with Deputy President William Ruto, who is at the helm of the country’s leadership from the Kalenjin community.

The ODM leader was able to congregate prominent Kalenjin leaders including Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) Wilson Sossion, who is also an ODM nominated MP; Former Bomet MP Nick Salat and Former Eldama Ravine MP Musa Sirma.

A row developed between Ruto and Raila after the handshake between the opposition leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto alongside his political die-hards such as Kipchumba Murkomen have accused Raila of dividing the Jubilee Party.

Nonetheless, Raila has still met up with Ruto’s kinsmen, in a bid to discuss matters “reviving agriculture, the Building Bridges Initiative, famine in parts of the Rift Valley and how to ensure that the dams whose funds have been embezzled can be set back on track,” he said on his Twitter.
