ODM party was floored by rivals in the just concluded mini election, however, Raila Odinga Junior has spoken after the lose.
Raila Junior has commended Embakasi South MP-elect Julius Mawathe and his Ugenya counterpart David Ochieng following their win in just held by-elections.
The son of the Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said that the winners deserve credit for their hard work and commitment to ensure that they emerged victorious after the tight competition.
He noted that the two candidates, Julius Mawathe and David Ochieng, had to camp in various parts of their constituencies to win the seats.
“I commend the ODM party for their effort in both Embakasi South & Ugenya. They had a rough time at the ballot by the way, thank you to everybody that showed up to support the orange party. Congratulations to the winners, the journey continues,” he tweeted .
Mawathe garnered 21,628 votes beating his rival ODM’s Irshad Sumra who garnered 7,988 votes.
In Ugenya’s by-election, Movement for Democracy and Growth candidate David Ochieng won the election after flooring Christopher Karan of ODM 18730 votes to 14507 votes.
ODM’s loss in both by-elections has continued to elicit mixed reactions from various quarters.
The loss in Ugenya is considered as a big blow to the Raila Odinga who continues to enjoy massive political support from the Luo Nyanza region.
