Pep Guardiola: You can’t compare Man City to Manchester United, unless…

Pep Guardiola may have upset quite a few of Manchester City’s fans recently with some of the comments he made.

Over the last few seasons, Man City have very much become the dominant team in Manchester.

However, Guardiola doesn’t think City can be compared to United until they themselves win the treble.

Guardiola has himself won the treble with Barcelona in the 2008/09 season.

While Man United won it in the 1998/99 season.

Speaking about winning the treble and Man United, Guardiola stated:

“I’m quite curious about the teams that achieved something good, for the reason why and what they have done.

“It’s clear that winning the treble is not easy. It happened in Germany, I went there the year after Jupp Heynckes got it. I like to know the way they did it.

“And every time, when I look at these kind of big, big issues, always it’s tough.

“There are always moments where you be lucky, and having personalities in the big moments can help the team to achieve.

“But I cannot compare us with what United have done. They have done what we haven’t[win the treble].”As quoted by the Independent.

Manchester City eyeing treble

City still have the treble in their sites this campaign.

They are in the semi-final of the 2018/19 FA Cup and will face Brighton on Saturday for a spot in the final.

Man City are also currently 2nd in the Premier League but will go into 1st place, should they win their game in hand.

The Citizens are also still going strong in the Champions League and will face Tottenham in the quarter-final next week.
