MP warn parents against children joining cults

Parent have been petitioned to take charge of their children who are trapped by evil citizens to join cults.

When people hear the word cult, they often think of a group that worships Satan, sacrifices animals, or takes part in evil, bizarre, and pagan rituals. However, in reality, a cult rarely involves such things. In fact, a cult, in the broadest sense of the word, is simply a religious system with particular rites and customs.

The two most common teachings of Christian cults are that Jesus was not God and that salvation is not by faith alone. A denial of the deity of Christ results in the view that Jesus’ death was insufficient to pay for our sins.

Bomachoge Chache MP Alfah Miruka states that the cults would hurt their education and ruin the lives.

Speaking at Egetuki shopping centre after he disbursed bursary cheques to needy students, he said the monies would go to waste if students join such sects.

“Parents have complained that some students have joined illuminati. I urge chiefs and security officers to investigate and arrest people who want to ruin the lives of our children,” he said.

Some local administrators had also raised concerns that some rooms were being hired at a local shopping centre to recruit students into the sect.

The MP said he would not allow recruiters to take advantage of children from poor families and lure them with money.
