‘Tuko pamoja,’Raila backs President Kenyatta in war against graft

Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has reassured President Uhuru Kenyatta of his support in the fight against corruption.

This comes a day after the State of the Nation address where the Head of State downplayed calls to sack Cabinet Secretaries and senior government officials implicated in graft.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has exuded confidence that his administration will win the war against corruption despite  increasing concerns that the ongoing graft purge is more of empty rhetoric than concrete action.

He strongly asserted that there would be “no turning back, no compromises or sacred cows” in the ongoing graft purge.

“There will be no turning back in the War against Corruption and Impunity. There will be no sacred cows, no compromise. The fight against corruption is a fight for the soul of our nation,” he said.

On Friday, Raila noted that the fight against corruption is in the building bridges agenda.

He commended the government for improving the health sector and urged intensified fight for electoral justice and against ethnicity.

He was speaking in Awendo Constituency in Migori County when he officiated the groundbreaking ceremony of the Awendo Kenya Medical Training College.
