So my mama JayJay (Reiginah Katar RIP) is holding a 1969 bag yes that bag is 50 years old! It belongs to my mother, whose father bought it for her when she was going for her 1st job interview. Made from Zebra and cow hide. Seeing as we can’t really poach zebras anymore mama Jay and i had started looking for good quality leather to make our bags and this 70s design was one of the inspirations behind our ideas. On her passing i decided to keep that dream alive and design bags with the same ideal of bringing back those glorious designs from the beautiful days of the 70s and fusing them with the new trends. When you look at our bags you see those hints of the 70s glory days when Africa was young and hopeful. We hope these bags inspire you to have hope even in the darkest hours, to keep your dream alive and to make it happen. One step at a time.... or in our instance, one bag at a time. #itsajokajok #jokajokleather #eastafricanluxury #designedbyteddjosiah
