“Watch what you are sharing on social media. Criminals can befriend you and easily gain access to a shocking amount of information like where you go to school, where you work and even when you are on vacation. That could help them gain access to more valuable data,” read their message.

Anyone active in social media can’t deny that they have posted a personal rant or shared a trending post. Even I can’t deny that I’m guilty of this.

They fill our news feeds with their day-to-day activities, location check-ins, or relationship updates. Whilst most of this is benign, (if a mostly a little boring), some elements have the possibility to hide dangers can lurk into oversharing.

Take care by being careful following the DCI’s tips.
