Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti has today given a timely advice to Kenyans on how to be safe over the weekends.

Weekends are mostly days to rest and have a good time and most people especially the youth choose to have fun over the weekend.

Depending on how you describe fun this could be going to the movies, clubbing all night and some would simply remain indoors.

People are cautioned to be safe at all times but we cannot rule out that the weekend craze can turn out to be a complete mess.

Through the official twitter handle of the DCI, their security tip to Kenyans is that they should watch what they are sharing on social media.

“Criminals can befriend you and easily gain access to a shocking amount of information like where you go to school, where you work and when youare on vacation. That could help them gain access to more valuable data” reads the statement

Kenyans seem to relate with this timely security tip and despite social media being a tool of interaction, it could equally be used by criminals to dupe Kenyans.
