Brother to Ugenya By-election aspirant arrested

The Ugenya by-election set to kick start on Friday has experienced some rough patches.

Brother to Ugenya by election aspirant David Ochieng was arrested after he stormed the polling station in the company of rowdy youth.

The aspirant’s brother stormed Sega primary polling station with the rowdy youth before they were nabbed by police.

He is currently being held at Ukwala police station.

The constituency has 57,008 registered voters according to the latest statistics by the IEBC.

It is these votes that four candidates from different political parties will be scrambling for Friday, in their hopes to be declared a winner by Ugenya returning officer Vincent Saitabau.

ODM’s Christopher Odhiambo Karani, the former MP, is seeking to reclaim his seat, snatched from him by the courts after a successful petition by Mr David Ochieng of Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG).

Some parts of the constituency has reported smooth process.
