Chelsea Manager Shocks Many By His Emphatic Comment About Hudson-Odoi

The feud between Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and emerging star Callum Hudson-Odoi has been hitting the headlines and is probably not news to anybody.

But the narrative seems to be taking a u-turn and Sarri has emphatically changed his view of the starlet.

And now, Sarri believes the starlet can become “one of the best players in Europe”.

The England international made his full Premier League debut for Chelsea FC in the 3-0 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Hudson-Odoi made an assist for Olivier Giroud’s opening goal in the rout before Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek put the result beyond doubt.

Sarri has been criticised in recent weeks for his handling of Hudson-Odoi after the Chelsea FC manager resisted the temptation to start the teenager in the Premier League.

However, Hudson-Odoi’s performance for England on his first start fuelled calls for the Italian head coach to give Hudson-Odoi a chance to shine in the English top flight

And Sarri spoke enthusiastically about Hudson-Odoi’s potential following Chelsea FC’s 3-0 victory over Brighton.

“Callum started for the first time in the Premier League but he has played 20 matches or so for us,” Sarri said.

“I was sure about him. He played very well, and an assist for the first goal. He defended very well, and for us this is very important. This is very helpful for us.

“He’s a good boy. Of course, now, he can risk stopping to improve because he can risk thinking that he is a player at 100 per cent, but that’s not true. It’s impossible to be at the top when you are 18.

“He needs to improve, he can improve, and I want him to improve. He can become one of the best players in Europe.

“Callum is ready to play in every match, even the most difficult matches. He improved a lot over the season.

“I am really happy for him. Not only in attack, but in defence. For this team, the future is could be good with Callum.”

Hudson-Odoi has netted five goals and has made two assists in 10 games in the Europa League and the FA Cup this term.

The Chelsea FC teenager has been the subject of interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich this year.

Hudson-Odoi made an assist for Chelsea FC team-mate Ross Barkley in England’s 5-1 victory over Montenegro in their Euro 2020 qualifier.

Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action with a home clash against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
