Liverpool pay agents £44m
Times reporter Martyn Ziegler has posted an eye-catching table on Thursday revealing Premier League payments to agents.
The data reveals that Liverpool paid out a league high 44 million pounds to agent during 2018-19.
During that timeframe, the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Naby Keita have all moved to Anfield.
Liverpool are currently second in the league behind Man City.
Man City & Man United
When it came to the two Manchester clubs, City outspend United.
Man City have paid 24 million pounds to agents, signing Bernando Silva in this period.
Man United have spent just under 21 million pounds after Fred and Diogo Dalot joined the ranks at Old Trafford.
Arsenal & Tottenham
Turning to the two north London rivals, Arsenal narrowly paid more to agents than Tottenham.
The starling note about that is that Spurs haven’t signed any new players in the past two windows.
Tottenham’s 11.14 million outlay relates to previous deals.
As for Arsenal, their 11.18 million payments have paid for the arrivals of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
Chelsea & other points of note
After Liverpool, Chelsea were the second highest payers in the Premier League.
The Blues have shelled out almost 27 million pounds to agents in the last year. Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Gonzalo Higuain have all arrived at Stamford Bridge in that time.
At the other end of the scale, Cardiff paid the least with only a 2 million pound expenditure.
