On Wednesday, Jeff Koinange had had a difficult time controlling war of words on Twitter between Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba, Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua who was the guest in Jeff Koinange live, and Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo.
While Jeff was interviewing Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua, Kipchumba Murkomen through twitter brought the issue of DCI’s ability to investigate 21-billions dams scandal citing that Kinoti is selective in dealing with the war on graft.
For months now, Murkomen has shown doubt on the ability of the DCI to investigate the construction of the Kimwarer and Arror dams, in which Sh21 billion is said to have been lost through dubious payments.
Murkomen, questioned investigations into the Thwake dam project in Makueni County, noting that an advanced payment of Sh7 billion had been made without any tangible work on the ground.
“This is the site of Thwake Dam in Makueni County where 7.8B advance payment was made 3 years ago. How far is the @DCI_Kenya with investigations? We will not allow discrimination as long as we are still in a country called Kenya,” tweeted M
In response, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo rubbished Murkomen’s claims, with a mother of all stoppers telling him that no payments have been made by Treasury towards the construction of the Thwake Dam which is expected to serve the lower Eastern region.
Mr. Murkomen and other MPs allied to DP William Ruto have questioned DCI Kinoti’s approach in the fight against corruption, often accusing him of taking instructions from people opposed to Ruto’s 2022 candidature.
