Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday met with South Sudan President Salva Kiir in Entebbe.
Mr. Kiir was in company of top government officials on a one-day visit to Uganda after invitation by Mueveni.
The two were talking about the implementation of the peace agreement that was written eight months ago.
In August 2018, Salva Kiir signed peace treaty with his counterpart Riek Machar over the four-years border fight in Sudan.
” I have met His Excellency, Salva Kiir, this morning at State House Entebbe. He briefed me on the progress of implementation of the South Sudan peace agreement,” Museveni tweeted.
He also added that despite a few challenges, there is progress. and urged all parties to work towards peace and stability.
This comes barely a week after Museveni toured Kenya for a three-day state visit which was aimed at strenghtening ties between the two countries which are main contributors of economic progress in East Africa.
