Margaret Kenyatta’s chemistry with Obama sets the Internet on fire

The 19th World Travel and Tourism Global Summit started in high gear at Seville, Spain after First Lady Margaret Kenyatta met her most powerful state-house guest of all time.

A warm welcome did not suffice as the former US President was seen catching up with Ms Kenyatta on the sidelines of the summit.

The chemistry continued to the stage, where Obama could not end his speech before acknowledging Kenya’s first lady. All the time, Ms Kenyatta was all smiles, presumably enjoying the spot-light as the former World’s most powerful man showered her with niceties.

Obama who has been hosted twice by Margaret at State House, Nairobi also recounted fond memories of his travel to Kenya.

Coming to Kenya in his mid-20s helped him understand his history, the place where his father was born and also to meet members of his extended family.

Obama was asked about how his travel has shaped his world view and responded that it reminded him of his heritage and the diversity of the human race.

“Travel also reminds us what we are, what we share and what we have in common,” said the former 44th US President.

He gave a narration, that if you saw a child playing and laughing in Kenya, and travel to Hawaii, you will experience a similar thing repeated but by a child from a different background.

He expressed his interest in the young generation by noting that young people are more adaptable to different cultures and environment without many reservations. 

“Young people are more tolerant and not afraid of the unfamiliar or change,” Obama told the delegates.
