First Lady Margaret Kenyatta Holds talks with Barrack Obama

The First Lady has always been on the forefront in making endless efforts to conserve wildlife which has her gaining global recognition. First Lady Margaret Kenyatta is in Seville, Spain for the World Trade and Tourism Council (WTTC) 19th Global Summit.

She was expected to give a keynote address at the Global Summit. According to a recent tweet by the First Lady, she was pleased to have held talks with President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the 19th World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

Both were seen to have had a cozy time after the summit and exchanged experiences on how to foster and bolster cultures and opportunities in the tourism sector across the world. Margaret also seized the opportunity to market and promote Kenya’s travel, tourism and wildlife sector to the global market.

First Lady on arrival at the station on Wednesday, was received by the Spanish Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabelle Maria Oliver Sagreras, and Kenya’s Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala. The theme of her address was “Africa Rising”.

This year’s Summit was expected to attract a record attendance of over 1,500 delegates and it was centered on the theme of ‘Changemakers’, harnessing the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the world from Seville and the world-changing impact of that achievement.

WTTC aims to inspire delegates with change-making individuals and ideas to craft the future vision of Travel & Tourism. Entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation, diversity, and inclusivity will drive the conversation.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama graced the event as one of the ‘changemakers.’ The First Lady also attended dinner hosted in honour of key delegates at the summit.
