German star ready to sign new Manchester City deal as club prepares a handsome offer

The ‘Cityzens‘ Manchester City are hopeful Leroy Sane will sign a new deal at the Etihad after making progress with the winger’s representatives in the last fortnight.

The German’s current deal expires in 2021 and City have found some resistance from Sane’s side over signing an extension.

The winger was a £37million signing from Schalke in 2016 and has developed into one of the finest forwards in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola.

Sane remains on the same deal that he signed in three years ago and earns around £65,000-a-week at the Etihad.

City has signed the likes of Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Ederson, Aymeric Laporte and Bernardo Silva down to new long-term deals in the last year and Sane remains the only first-team star with questions over his future.

Sane’s representatives are seeking a far bigger deal and cited Anthony Martial’s bumper £190,000-a-week deal at neighbours Manchester United as proof of what the German could earn elsewhere.

Suprisingly the club acknowledges that Sane has outgrown his current deal and were willing to hand him improved terms of around £100,000-a-week.

As such, the two parties are nearing a figure closer to £160,000-a-week and City are confident now that Sane will sign the deal before the end of the season.
