Ole: “We’re looking (to improve) at all positions all the time”

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed whether his side will sign a new centre-back in the summer.

Since last summer, the Red Devils have been linked with a move for a new defender with central defence clearly the weakest area in their squad.

But since Solskjaer’s arrival, United have significantly improved defensively and they are now weighing up the possibility of prioritising signings in other areas.

Solskjaer: “But we’re looking at all positions all the time”

Solskjaer has admitted he is open to adding a new central defender but is happy with his current options.

United’s current options include Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo.

The Norweign manager claims that he cannot fault any of the five but the club are ready to move in the market if circumstances change.

Solskjaer said:

“I think Chris and Phil, Victor and Eric, Marcos – there’s five centre backs there for you.

“When they are at the top of their game, they are all high quality.

“You could see from Phil’s programme that he was really fit and he played really well, Chris has come back in and done really well.

“Victor will hopefully be ready again now. He is ready. I will probably bring him.

“But we’re looking at all positions all the time and if there is any dip in the form or attitude in players, but I have to say the attitude of all those five have been brilliant.”
