Not Now! Liverpool Sweating On Van Dijk’s Fitness

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is hoping the injury suffered by Virgil van Dijk during their 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday isn’t serious.

Van Dijk suffered the ankle issue defending a 2-on-1 situation against Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-Min late in Sunday’s clash.

Afterwards, Klopp told the media, “I don’t know if he twisted it or it is a knock. He was walking to the interviews with a big ice pack.

” I hope it’s nothing serious but I don’t know yet. We have to see.”

Van Dijk himself thinks he will be fit for the clash against Southampton on Friday. He told the Liverpool Echo, “It hurts, but we will take a look at it. I’ll be fine for Friday.”

Van Dijk has been in superb form for Liverpool this season and is widely tipped to be named Premier League player of the year.
