Farting is a normal part of digestion that reflects the activity of the bacteria in your gut.

We fart on average fourteen times a day, but there are a few reasons why the ‘quality’ and quantity can change for the worst.

You might also notice that you fart more when you eat certain foods that are more difficult to digest, such as beans or raw vegetables.

Whether you find farting funny, disgusting or like to pretend you never do it, it’s a bodily function we all perform.

An employee of an Australian company has sued his boss for stinky farts that he says amount to bullying at work.

The Melbourne engineer says his boss would enter his windowless office many times a day to fart after he’ ‘thrusted his bum’ on his face repeatedly.

The employee told a court that he felt this way a tactic used by his boss to try and get rid of him.

He describes his experience to the court saying “I would be sitting with my face to the wall and he would come into the room fart behind me and walk away,” the engineer says, adding he eventually sprayed deodorant at his superior.

The Boss somewhat acknowledged this before  a judge saying

“I may have done it once or twice, maybe but I can’t recall,”

The court also heard of alleged phone calls in which the employee was called “an idiot,” but ultimately the Judge hearing the case dismissed the suit last April, noting there was “some inappropriate behavior in the office, including passing wind,” but that it “would not necessarily amount to bullying.”

The employee appealed, and the Court of Appeal heard his claims of harassment, psychiatric trauma, and “severe stress” last week. “My boss thrust his bum at me while he’s at work,” he told the judges. A ruling is expected this week.
