Kalonzo, Mudavadi to lead in the launch of Huduma Namba

As the Huduma Namba launch approaches President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed government officials to precide over the launch the Huduma Namba in various counties.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka ois among the benefiaciaries of President Kenyatta’s initiatiave after he was appointed to preside over the launch in Murang’a County while Amani National Coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi will be doing the same in Kajiado County as former Prime Minister Raila Odinga launches the registration exercise in Mombasa County.

President Uhuru Kenyatta will preside over the National launch in Machakos County as his deputy William Ruto conducts the ceremony in Kakamega County.

To confirm the event in Machakos, Governor Alfred Mutua posted on his social media with caption, “ALL SET FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL LAUNCH OF THE HUDUMA NUMBER IN MACHAKOS COUNTY We are delighted to be hosting H.E. the President Uhuru Kenyatta in Masii tomorrow, for the launch of the Huduma Number (NIIMS). “

The Sh6 billion project is aimed at creating a database for Kenyans to access government services with ease.

Members of the public, including foreigners living in Kenya, have until mid-May to register with NIIMS and get their own unique identification number.

Registration that will be harmonized into one Huduma number will also include registration for National Hospital Insurance Funds (NHIF) and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) cards, registration for cash transfer to the elderly, registration for access to government procurement opportunities (AGPO), registration for persons living with disabilities benefits and registration of farmers for food security among others.
