‘Yellow Wall’ Was The Celebration Mark After Borussia Dortmund’s Late Win Against Wolfsburg

This year’s Bundesliga title race seems to be one of the toughest and one of its own after several years.

After an age of effortless Bayern Munich dominance, the sleeping giant that is Borussia Dortmund has stirred once more.

Bayern have quite simply strolled to the last six – yes six – German titles since Dortmund last pipped them to the post in the in 2011/12.

Now that monopoly looks to be under real threat once again, especially after Saturday’s results saw Dortmund snatch a late win at home to Wolfsburg while Bayern could only stutter to a draw away to FC Freiburg.

That saw Dortmund leapfrog their bitter rivals back to the top of the Bundesliga standings, having surrendered their cosy early season lead after a run of poor results.

With ninety minutes gone of what had been a painfully nervy performance though, BVB were limping to another disappointing result as their slide looked set to continue.

However, Paco Alcacer came to the rescue, scoring twice in injury time to hand his side a crucial late win and send them back to the top.

As you can imagine, the incredible Dortmund fans were in fine voice inside the Westfalen Stadion following the late drama and the gravity of the win was not lost on them in the slightest.

The famous stadium was absolutely rocking following the final whistle, thanks in no small part to those fans stationed on the world-renowned ‘Yellow Wall’.

Whenever the fans on that stand truly get going it really is spine-tingling stuff and Saturday afternoon was no different.

The Dortmund players went over to celebrate with their fans following their late heroics, and the Yellow Wall did not disappoint in the slightest.

Take a bow Dortmund fans – what a marvellous racket.

That thunderous noise will no doubt have been heard in Bavaria, where Bayern will be licking their wounds having dropped vital points in the title race.

Imagine the noise if Dortmund can hold on to win the whole thing.
