Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is the latest worry United have in their bid to restore their lost glory.
The Spanish international has been involved in protracted negotiations with Manchester United over a new long term contract to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
De Gea has one one more season left to run on his £240,000 a week deal and new United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for him to pen a new agreement.
But they are unable to agree terms with De Gea who wants parity with United’s highest earner Alexis Sanchez who picks up around £500,000 a week.
PSG are willing to meet his demands to replace veteran Italian Gianluigi Buffon while United have currently put around £350,000 a week on the table.
Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on talks after being far from impressed with Thibaut Courtois since his £35 million move for Chelsea last summer.
Juventus are another club who are watching developments with a keen eye but United have not given up hope that he will agree to remain with them.
De Gea has yet to put pen to paper on a contract at Old Trafford.
United boss Solskjaer is hopeful De Gea, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera will all sign new deals at the club though.
“Well you have to ask them,” Solskjaer said.
“But to know who’s the manager of the club is next season is, of course, helpful for any player to decide where he wants to play.
“We’ve got a couple of players we’re in talks with and hopefully we can get their futures sorted.”
De Gea played in the 2-1 win over Watford on Saturday.
But the Spain international will be desperate for United to compete on all fronts next season with Solskjaer now the permanent successor to Jose Mourinho.
De Gea has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season, keeping 10 clean sheets.
The goalkeeper will expect to start United’s next fixture against Wolves in the Premier League on Tuesday.
