Orengo’s combat gear leaves Kenyans wondering

Siaya Senator James Orengo has now shelved his trendy suits and was spotted adorning in the outlawed military combat gear on Saturday.

The vocal legislature who appeared at a public rally in Siaya County dressed in the attire resembling military uniform baffled many people who wondered why Orengo was not arrested.

The former Inspector General (IG) of police, Joseph Boinnet, in January issued orders for the arrest and charging of any civilians donning attire that mimic police or military uniform.

During campaigns for 2017 elections, different groups including Jubilee party women brigade, which was led by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, were spotted wearing military fatigue.

Another group that referred to itself as Nairobi Business Community and which aligned itself to Jubilee party also made public appearances in military gear.
