What REALLY is in a woman’s handbag?

A woman’s handbag is a magical mystery filled with everything you can possibly think of. A woman is never under prepared and is always ready for anything, and the items found in her purse reflect just that.

While a woman’s purse is usually a bag of wonders, secrets and mystery, here’s a list of typical items that can always be found. Finally, we can reveal the contents of the mythical bottomless ladies handbag.

Although we have just scratched the surface in our quest to find out what is really contained in the bags, we now have a clearer picture of one of the two places men are forbidden and dare not to go. The other place is of course the woman’s mind, (which we will venture into some other time).

 Most men believe the bags are the magician’s hat where you can pull anything out of. We can swear some of these bags have a hammer, tomato sauce, change of clothes for three days, empty soda bottles, superglue, wig, tent, battery fluid and the occasional candle.

 So in an effort to demystify the Big Bag theory, I went on a fact finding mission to find out what exactly is contained in these massive bags, or as they are commonly known ‘fornication bags’.

 Truth be told, the contents vary from one simple chic to another uptown lady. But there are common absolute essentials. So with much prodding and having promised to keep their identities a secret, four ladies revealed what their handbags hold.

Gum or mints.

It’s always a good idea to these handy especially for those days when you decide to have a burger with extra peppers and onions for lunch, or if you just want to make sure you don’t have bad breath when your boss calls you in for a meeting (because they always seem to do so at the absolute worst moment). Because it is always a good move to have fresh breath.

Toothbrush or floss.

And sometimes, we even stay aggressively fresh.

Tissues

We keep tissues for the impromptu cry or when we need to blow our noses.

Pens.

You never know when you will need to sign an autograph or a Chipotle receipt.

Glasses and sunglasses.

Protection from the sun or protection for others because you can’t read street signs is always a good idea. Your future’s so bright you gotta wear shades!

 Phone charger.

Because Apple won’t come up with a phone that holds a charge for more than an hour.

 Hair bands.

Satan steals our hair ties from our arms when we aren’t looking so it is always a good idea to have backup.

Bobby pins.

You weren’t satisfied with your hair the way it was, so you decided bangs would be the new look only to realize that was an awful choice. Pin them back with the 93,567 bobby pins at the bottom of your purse.

 Nail file.

Hangnails are of the Devil so it’s better to be prepared.

Girl things like tampons.

It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Never be stranded without provisions. Without a couple of these essentials in your bag, you are practically asking Mother Nature to hand you her monthly gift at the most inconvenient time.

Panadol/Hedex/ Pain Killer

The long day headaches or period cramps call for drastic measures. Good thing you are prepared.

Coupons and punch cards.

Your wallet is lined with punch cards and coupons you haven’t looked at in five years but are too chicken to throw away.

A book.

We get bored waiting in line to have our tires rotated.

A planner.

How else would we keep our lives together?

 Lotion.

For the times you run out of the house too quickly and realize you forgot to put on lotion after you shaved.

 Receipts everywhere.

For quick touch-ups. It’s important to always look fresh-faced for presentations and meetings.
