Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona was one of the biggest transfer stories of last summer.

He was said to be their big target, seemed like the superstar they needed, and everyone was drawn into the hype.

And who could forget ‘La Decision’, a half-hour documentary where Griezmann revealed that he wasn’t actually going anywhere?

Yes, Griezmann stayed at Atletico Madrid in the end.

Not just that, but he reneged on a verbal agreement with Barcelona and signed a new contract with Atleti.

It made him one of the highest-paid players in Europe with a staggering yearly wage of 23 million euros.

Atleti had tied down their superstar with a huge contract, meaning he could lead the side going forward.

Well, for one year anyway, sources report that Griezmann has told Barcelona that he’s changed his mind again.

That doesn’t look great initially, although that would mean he’s happy to take a 7 million euro pay cut to join the Catalonians.

It would be quite an incredible move, with Griezmann appearing to now value the trophies and success of an elite side over anything else.

There certainly is a problem at Atletico now. Lucas Hernandez has been poached by Bayern Munich, Diego Godin is set to leave, with Diego Costa, Filipe Luiz, and Saul may follow.

But can Atletico afford to sell a player they were happy to build around less than 12 months ago?

And do Barca still want him? They’ve long been linked with Luka Jovic, while Marcus Rashford’s name has come up recently.

It sounds like they want a more traditional striker, rather than a player like Griezmann.

They too have a big decision to make in the coming months.

We’ll have to wait and see as this could, once again, be the biggest transfer story as we head into the summer.
