The political rift in Mt Kenya continues to widen with fresh claims that some Members of Parliaments are working with the opposition to kill Jubilee Party.
29 Mt Kenya MPs allied Deputy President William Ruto accused Nasa leader Raila Odinga of using their colleagues to divide President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party.
The legislators, who spoke at Parliament Buildings, said they will not allow the rebels to divert Jubilee from realising its promises to the people.
Buuri MP Mugambi Riondikiri said some leaders in Jubilee are being used to sow seeds of discord in the party.
“Former ODM advisers who are now in Jubilee should not accept to be used by their external masters who are known agents of deceit, discord and division. They thrive in politics of chaos and confusion,” Riondikiri said.
“We are saying this fully aware that it is the intention of our political detractors to sow division in our party and eventually kill the Jubilee dream. ”
The lawmakers accused Raila of hiding behind the truce with Uhuru to not only rock Jubilee but also to divide the country with the sole aim of stopping DP Ruto’s 2022 presidency.
