Boinnet advices County commanders on how to curb security challenges

Inspector General Joseph Boinnet has today urged County commanders to embrace collaborative leadership to curb security challenges.

Boinnet gave these remarks during the presided over of the closure of County Police Commanders Strategic Leadership Development Programme No: 2/2019 at the NPS Senior Staff College-Loresho Campus.

This programme was designed to prepare high cadre Police officers to be better skilled at: Strategic Leadership, Change Management, Command & Control, Emotional Intelligence among other skills.

Speaking at the ceremony, IG Boinnet said that National Police Service takes cognizance of the changes in the Kenyan society where communities across the country are demanding greater participation in determining how they are policed.

He further called on the County commanders to embrace collaborative leadership which is the answer to security challenges facing the nation hence the need to embrace community policing and multi-agency approach as they police a more informed society.
