However, despite such a large income in his playing days, a Norwegian news outlet has ranked his current net worth significantly lower.

According to Josimar, he is worth approximately 24m NOK (£2.11m).

The 45-year-old is earning roughly 10 times the salary he was picking up with Norwegian side Molde.

Details of Solskjaer’s deal with United have not been confirmed though The Mirror understand he was earning around the £100,000 per week before appointed as permanent manager.

His predecessor Jose Mourinho picked up approximately £250,000 per week during his reign.

Solskjaer’s wages have significantly risen from his contract with Molde where he was reportedly earning £9,600-a-week.

He earned a £35,000 weekly wage during the peak of his playing career at United.
