Sweat expensive deal; Sane set to seal a double money pay deal in new contract

When Germany coach Joachim Loew failed to call City’s Leroy Sane to the national team for the 2018 World cup, everyone felt for the winger simply because he is one of the wide players that the world has produced.

Sane has made a name for himself in the starting eleven in the Etihad based club,Manchester City and remains to be in the future plans of his manager.

Leroy Sané is set to double his Manchester City wages to around £180,000 per week when he puts pen to paper on a new contract at the club, according to reports.

The Blues winger has been in negotiations with the club over a new contract since the autumn and the media reports indicate that City officials are confident of striking a deal before the end of the season.

The Germany international, who signed for City from Schalke in a deal worth £37million in the summer of 2016, has 14 goals and 17 assists to his name this season after being named the PFA Young player of the year in the last campaign.

Sane’s current deal runs until 2021 and it is believed that he will sign an extension that will prolong his stay at the Etihad until 2024.

Pep Guardiola has overseen forwards Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus commit their futures to the club over the past 18 months.

Sane endured a slow start to the campaign after being omitted from the Germany squad for the World Cup, but has since asserted himself with Sterling and Bernardo Silva as Guardiola’s most-trusted wide men.

“Leroy, I think, is the best player in the world [playing] wide and making runs in behind and these kind of actions,” Guardiola said after Sané fired in a free-kick against his former club Schalke in the first-leg of City’s Champions League last-16.

“We prefer to use him where he is strong. His strength, I believe, is wider – one against one. There I think he is an incredible player.”
