Celebrated actor cum comedian DJ Shiti has disclosed that one of Kenya’s most popular shows Real Househelps of Kawangware will no longer air on KTN.

The funnyman revealed that the show has rebranded and will come bigger and better at a different station. He, however, didn’t reveal why the show decamped to another station.

“We have rebranded the show, it’s coming back bigger and better. However, it will not be aired on KTN as it was being aired before it will be aired on a different station. For now, I cannot reveal why we left KTN though,” he told Classic 105.

This is one of the major changes the show has experienced in the last 3 years ago as in 2016 Njugush, Abel Mutua (a scriptwriter) and Phil Karanja (the director) left the show.

In a lengthy social media post, Njugush said changes in scripting and directing had pushed him into leaving.

“Hi Fam, I will no longer be on ‪#‎trhk sad as might be. This is due to important aspects of the show changing for the new season.

The aspects being scripting and Directing. Change is not bad, but without gelled and oiled transition I feel it would put characters, plot, and the whole show in jeopardy,” he wrote.

Before adding “However am really humbled for all the support you’ve given me as a character through and through.

I have grown in measures unforeseen, and for that, I will forever be grateful for your undying love. Also, Protel studios Asante for the platform you gave me. Above all God for weaving this basket to completion.”

We had barely come to terms with his departure when Philip Karanja and Abel Mutua the writer said they were leaving the hit show after 104 episodes to try a hand at their own production media house Phil-It Productions.

“…the time has come for the show’s writer Abel Mutua and I as the director to bid farewell to the show.

After 104 episodes, we feel we’ve done our share and it’d only be fair if we handed over the baton to another team to inject a new feel to the show,” part of their statement released by Phil read.
