Its just a month after a man was arrested while smuggling his baby out of the facility after he failed to pay a bill of KSh 56,000.

A heartbreaking video has emerged online showing a Nairobi woman leaving Kenyatta National Hospital with her patient after she was denied medical services on ground that she could not raise KSh 1,950 for medical services.

It was all pain, tears and anguish as the woman left the hospital after spending a whole night in the cold with the hope of getting attended to.

In the video on Thursday, March 28, amid tears, the woman narrated to people who were passing by as she lamented poor service delivery at the country’s top healthcare facility.

“Don’t worry, God will see your my dear…you see we have spent a whole night in the cold and there is no attention given to you…Let’s go God Will see you through,” said the woman as she supported the patient, Esther, to walk.

What she thought would help lessen her sister’s pain, turned into a series of medical torture as they walked out of the hospital without any treatment despite having arrived at the facility at 2pm on Wednesday, March 27.

“They have been taking me through cycles, I asked them my patient has been here since yesterday 2pm and she is yet to be attended, the only thing they gave me are the reception papers and all they kept asking me is if there is anybody who has come with money”.

“I wondered, can’t the patient be attended to then we will pay the KSh 1, 950 bill later even if it means we do a fundraiser, these are the same doctors who give me contracts to was their clothes,” she lamented.

She further said the mother of one has been suffering from cervical cancer and was divorced by her husband leaving her the responsibility of taking care of her and her baby.

However, this is not the first time the hospital has found itself in the limelight over medical bills. On Monday, February 18, a man was arrested while smuggling his baby out of the facility after he failed to pay a bill of KSh 56,000.
