While thousands of Kenyans are at the brink of dying from starvation in Northern Kenya, political bigwigs are having a hearty breakfast of eggs and sausages while pointing fingers over stolen funds.
National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has accused the Kenya Red Cross Society of eating a large portions of resources and funds that were provided by well-wishers in the country!
The Garissa Town Mp was responding to the newest appeal by the Society to fund Kenyans starving as a result of the current drought.
Shockingly, Duale has informed Kenyans to not give a single cent to the kitty!
Speaking to the press while attending the 20th Graduation Ceremony at the Garissa Teachers’ College, the legislator touched on the controversial Kenyans for Kenyans 2011 initiative.
It is alleged that the top officials at the Red Cross misappropriated funds running into the millions that were meant to save starving Kenyans.
“My friend Abbas Gullet should abandon the M-Pesa pay bill for Kenyans to raise funds. In the last drought, we raised billions of shillings and to date he has not explained to Kenyans how the funds were used,” Duale said.
If that’s not enough, Duale has also blasted the society for receiving Kshs 1 billion from the national government during last year’s Budalangi floods, yet not even one unit was put up by the society!
