The remains of the Nairobi-bound bus that was involved in an accident in Matuu area, Machakos County paint a devastating picture of fatal collission.
The bus was speeding towards Nairobi from Garissa when it hit the lorry, killing 14, police and survivors said.
The victims included ten men, two women and a child.
Several people were injured and rushed to Matuu Level Four hospital.
Yatta police boss Njoroge Karanja said the incident happened at about 5AM and it is not clear why the driver of the lorry did not place warning signs on the road to caution other users.
This is the latest accident to happen in the past week where more than 20 people have been killed. The others happened along Nakuru-Nairobi highway and Mombasa highway.
Fatal accidents are common and most incidents blamed on driving errors and bad roads.
