The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has acted swiftly on the rogue driver reported having beaten a passenger.
The officials summoned are representing Transnomics Sacco and are being questioned on the incident.in
NTSA has also appealed to passengers of the matatu KAK251C, the victim or any persons who witnessed the incident to reach out and give more information as they continue with the investigations.
On Monday, the online ‘police’ shared the video of the drive beating up the passenger with a metal rod.
The driver, in unclear circumstance, exchanged blows with the passenger before canning him in the dusty side of the road.
“Ameanza kunitukana (he started insulting me),” the driver could be heard talking in the video which has gone viral.
The KOT took the matter with great displeasure of rogue drivers and are asked the DCI to act accordingly.
” Our attention has been brought on the video which was circulated on social media sites yesterday of a driver attacking a passenger, the action taken by the driver is unacceptable,we are pursuing the matter & update on the action taken,” NTSA stated on Monday.
On Wednesday morning, NTSA confirmed that the sacco, whose rogue driver is a member, has summoned its leaders and investigations started.
