Tottenham Set to Replace Danny Rose With Ajax Star

Tottenham has been seeking the services of Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico who has been rocking heads in the Champions League this season.

The Argentine has become a key target of Spurs after putting in some truly commendable performances this term.

And pundits believe Ajax are prepared to sell the 26-year-old in the summer, despite two years remaining on his contract, with the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona also interested.

Tagliafico only signed from Independiente last season but has impressed enough to earn the plaudits of some of the top teams in Europe, and with Tottenham’s move into their new stadium now complete – there are surely enough funds now to make this move happen.

On Spurs’ interest Tagliafico said: “It’s great that they talk about me, because that means things are going well.

“But I can only focus on the present.”

As far as we are concerned, the likelihood is that Rose, who earns £60k-a-week, according to Spotrac, could be shipped out in the summer.

The Englishman is a good player, yes – but Tagliafico offers a refreshing take on what they already have to offer, adding immense speed and industriousness into the fray.

Pochettino may love to rotate his options, and we have see him do that with great success over the years, but switching between left-back options seems unlikely – with Jan Vertonghen and Ben Davies also available.

Of course, letting Rose go won’t be easy as he’s been a great servant over the years and he’s still one of the best full-backs in English football, but it might have to be done.

So, Spurs may have to wave goodbye to the left-back if Daniel Levy secures the services of Nicolas Tagliafico in the summer transfer window, as Rose’s proneness to injury makes him a risky option, and with Spurs wanting to build on another disappointing season that could make all the difference.
