The real reason behind Katie Price’s plans to welcome a sixth child despite having five for herself has been revealed and sounds wild just like you would have guessed.
The mum-of-five, 40, left fans gob-smacked as she appeared on This Morning and announced plans to adopt a Nigerian baby , after speaking to a woman in a nailbar.
However, now it appears that the star’s decision wasn’t as impulsive as it may have seemed, with Closer magazine claiming that there’s a sentimental reason behind her longing for another little one.
An insider told the publication that the former glamour model wanted her mother Amy who is suffering from an terminal lung disease and has been given three years to live to have another grandchild before it’s too late.
“Katie is heartbroken about Amy’s diagnosis and is secretly desperate to give her another grandchild as they don’t know how much time she has left,” they claimed.”She says it would make Amy happy seeing her welcome another baby into the world and seeing her settled with Kris”.
They added that Katie is keen to demonstrate to her mother that her life is back on track, and is in a “better place”.”She thinks becoming a mum again would really show her family she’s beaten her demons and is focusing on a new chapter,” the source explained.
Katie’s plans to adopt appeared to have been temporarily put on hold while she holidayed in Thailand with her toyboy beau Kris.
However, pals claimed while she was away that she is still just as keen as ever to extend her brood, and even expressed hopes to welcome two new children by the end of the year.
They added that Katie had even fallen in love with a little girl in Thailand after visiting an adoption agency, and wants to have a little boy naturally with Kris, who can be her “twin” brother.
Katie is already mum to Harvey, 16, Junior, 13 and Princess who she shares with Peter Andre and Jett, five, and Bunny, four from her third marriage to Kieran Hayler.
The star has not spoken any more about her adoption plans since returning to England.
