James Orengo’s pledge to impeach Deputy President William Ruto has elicited sharp reactions from the elite on social media.

On Sunday, during a rally in Ugenya, Orengo said that the country cannot move forward with a Deputy President who is at the centre, any time a corruption case is mentioned.

“I want to repeat here and now that the Senate together with the National Assembly, we want to bring a motion of impeachment to kick out DP Ruto from office,” Orengo said.

But now his close friend and fellow lawyer Miguna Miguna has poured cold water on the whole impeachment plot saying Orengo could just be after the brown envelope:

Miguna challenged Orengo to instead institute an impeachment motion against President Uhuru Kenyatta since he is Ruto’s boss, meaning the DP has got his blessing on matters corruption.

On the assumption that Raila could be using Orengo to bring down the government, here is what Miguna said.

Orengo said a Deputy President can be kicked out of office if it’s found that he or she has violated the Constitution or any other law. He said Article 150 of the Constitution is enough to throw out DP Ruto.

But Miguna Miguna has termed this as a hoax, only meant to excite Raila’s sycophants.

The outspoken NRM General wondered if the impeachment motion will open the IEBC servers or bring Msando back to life.

“Will Orengo‘s impeachment motion against @WilliamsRuto open up the @IEBC server or bring justice to Msando and other victims of Uhuru Kenyatta’s tyranny? How will it repatriate Shs. 15 TRILLION the Kenyatta and Moi families have stashed abroad or feed the starving Turkana?”

He finished off by telling Orengo that he and other ODM members were castrated by President Uhuru Kenyatta after the handshake.

Well, this is the most brutal attack aimed at Orengo after his Sunday remarks. It should be noted here that the Siaya Senator ones moved a motion of no confidence against Daniel Arap Moi.

Can he succeed against Ruto?
