Kenyan reggae queen Njambi Koikai has been battling Endometriosis.
Endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus, the endometrium, grows outside your uterus. Endometriosis most commonly involves your ovaries, Fallopian tubes and the tissue lining your pelvis. Rarely, endometrial tissue may spread beyond pelvic organs.

To create awareness, she has called on all ladies to have a 3 days of yellow where one is supposed to wear yellow clothes. Njambi has been in hospital for a period of time and has always shared her journey to save future lives.

As the 3 days of yellow kicked off, she shared through her Instagram page information calling on everyone to continue raising awareness. She wrote; “Let’s continue raising awareness on this special Endometriosis Awareness Month. The more we empower women and everyone around them with knowledge about the condition, the less of a taboo it will become.

Disabling pain during and after your menstrual cycle is not normal and shouldn’t be normalised. Visit a gynaecologist if you experience such pain who can diagnose it through a laparoscopy. If you do have it, seek help from a skilled gynaecologist. Excision surgery is the only way to remove the endo. Reproductive health matters. So do endo warriors. I am beating endometriosis everyday. We can do this together!”
