A low magnitude earthquake hit several counties in Kenya in the evening of Sunday, including Nairobi, Nyeri, Mombasa, Machakos, Makueni, Tharaka Nithi, Taita Taveta and Kiambu.
The earth tremors were experienced on Sunday evening at about 7pm and lasted for several seconds.
The Kenya Meteorological Department confirmed the earthquake but said there is no cause for alarm and no major damage as result of the same.

According to the www.earthquaketrack.com, a 4.8 magnitude quake hit Wundanyi in Taita Taveta County at 7.21pm.
Motorists using the road that passes through Fai Mario (sp) in Naivasha have been cautioned against using the road following tremors that rippled through Kenya on Sunday evening.
Traffic commandant Samuel Kimaru warned that a bridge that that links a section of the road in the region has developed cracks.
Traffic police officers have been deployed to the site to divert traffic awaiting instruction from road experts.
Road users in the region have been advised to heed to instructions until clearance to use the bridge has been issued.
The cracks on the bridge emerged after a magnitude 4.8 earthquake rippled through Kenya on the evening of Sunday, March 24.
Last year, a 2 kilometer fault line sparked fear in Moi Ndabi area on the outskirts of Naivasha town with at least 16 families having to move to higher ground after sections of their homes sank.
The fault line had been preceded by a similar incidence in Mai Mahiu where a section of road had sank in what geologists said was a slow separation of the Somali plate from the rest of Africa.
