The former Nairobi county boss, Evans Kidero might soon be in the Skumawiki ugali list of the Kamiti inmates but the success of the state to land him there will depend on one thing.

Kidero has been implicated in a number of scandals running into billions of taxpayers money but despite numerous attempts to have him prosecuted, his lawyer is firm to defend him.
Before Kidero was implicated on a conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption leading to the loss of Sh213 million, Senior Counsel Ahmed Nasir claimed that Sh300 Million was the bribe money awarded to Judges to rule in favor of Kidero, in the petition challenging his election filed by his then rival Ferdinand Waititu.
The bribery claims emerged following a report by NTV that indicated Kidero allegedly granted Justice Tunoi, Sh200 Million to influence the out come of the case.
However, both Governor Kidero and Judge Tunoi have since dismissed the allegations, citing they have never met personally.
Although the handshake between Uhuru and Raila backed by political pundits from both political parties seeks to address corruption in the country, the same fellas could be behind Kidero’s success out of court.
During the devolution confrence held in Kirinyaga, kidero’s lawyer James Orengo said “Kenyans should know that however powerful or mighty you are, if you have committed an act of corruption, you are not beyond the law.”
But when Dr Kidero and former members of his administration were charged with conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption leading to the loss of Sh213 million,through lawyer James Orengo, Dr Kidero termed the charges as framed and relates to an offense that does not exist in law.
James Orengo who is Raila right man has been pushing for the DP to step down over allegations of corruption but he is himself defending the vice in a court of law.
