Arsenal Keen to Snatch Serie A Forward From Chelsea’s Mouth

Chelsea has now to do everything it can to hastily sign Cagliari attacker Nicolo Barella as Arsenal also joins the clubs that want the services of the Serie A forward.

Arsenal sent scouts to the Italy v Finland game to monitor Barella and was rewarded with a goal in the seventh minute in a performance that has generally been praised.

Chelsea has been consistently linked with the 22-year-old but with their impending transfer ban this has opened up the door for the Gunners to slip in and hijack the move.

Cagliari had wanted a fee in the region of £40 Million, however, following a string of impressive performances the clubs President Tommaso Giulini, has now indicated that the price will go even higher.

“Maybe it’ll take more, seeing as next year it is his beloved Cagliari’s Centenary,” he said.

Those comments make it clear that Giulini is open to selling one of his best assets, it now just comes down to which club will meet the valuation set, a valuation that will keep on rising by the sounds of it.
