An unidentified man from Bomet was arrested by the police on Friday for allegedly suffocating his three kids to death.
Reports indicated that the bewildering crime came soon after the suspect was involved in what was described as one of the many heated quarrels with his wife.
The children who succumbed to an untimely death were reportedly aged five, eight and twelve.
Elijah Mutai Lelaitich – the area sub-chief, disclosed to reporters that investigations into the matter had commenced and that the mother of the late children was been sought as a person of interest in the case.
Neighbours of the suspect claimed that the couple was constantly at loggerheads and that his wife had since left her marital home as a result.
Bomet police officers affirmed that the suspect was in custody and that he was being held at the Sigor Police Station.
They further revealed that he would be arraigned in court as they continued carrying out their investigations into the incident that bamboozled many of the Bomet residents.
The latest incident follows a long list of inexplicable cases in which parents have ended up as the main suspects in the murder of their own children.
Back in December 2018, John Maina Wang’ombe was accused of stabbing his two daughters to death in Mishomoroni, Mombasa county, after asking them to get into the house to eat mangoes.
Recently, a man was arrested in Shauri Moyo over the death of his two daughters. The suspect, identified as Joseph Simiyu, is alleged to have killed his two daughters aged 3 and 10 by poisoning them and later stabbing them in their one-roomed house.
In an eerily similar narrative, Mr Simiyu and his wife were also reportedly engaged in constant quarrels leading up to the gruesome murders.
