For anyone out in these streets who doesn’t know what the equinox is…’amma’… give you a bridge version: ‘ the equinox is when the sun is directly overhead the equator and for countries lying along the equator the length of the days and nights are the same’
This is how the sun rises in Nairobi knowing very well how it will punish us throughout the whole day! hahahaha!
Having said that, the heat in Nairobi is becoming unbearable and its seems Nairobi has inched closer to the sun than any other city in the world.
Those who have walked for only fifteen minutes in the streets of Nairobi can tell you that we end up huffing and puffing like this……
The only way we can beat this heat is by hydrating all the time….but the only hitch I have is water rationing….
The wind too doesn’t seem to bring as much cooling effect …..because when it hits you….it feels like you have been hit with a gust of burning hot air….
The only reprieve you can have is walking into a building and getting a reprieve from the sun’s heat….and thank God only to find an air conditioner on in that building…..
we are even afraid of peeping outside the window because this is how we might end up…..
its too hot that it ends up feeling like this…when you try and step out of the house….
Is it the equinox effect or someone has just decided to adjust the volume of the sun coz even mzee in our one thousand shillings note can feel the heat, and he has decided to remove his suit.
for all of you who do not know how hot Nairobi is right now, this is how we wake look when we wake up from a fifteen minute nap anywhere….dehydated and very groggy..
I know you all have felt the effect of this heat wave here in Nairobi, but please please….tafadhali tukumbuke watu wale wale wote wanadunga mjei kwa hiii solar man….those are the true superheros of today.
