Sportpesa on their initiative in promoting sports in the country have donate boxing equipment such as boxing gloves and punching bags at Majengo Pumwani social hall Boxing gym.
This initiative is steered ahead of a boxing match where our very own Kenyan Boxer Fatuma Zarika will be facing Zambian boxer Phiri.Zarika has been in Liverpool, United Kingdom undergoing an intense training and fitness regime under the watchful eye of dedicated trainers and former WBC Cruiserweight champion, Tony Bellew.
The boxing affair dubbed ‘Nairobi Fight Night’ will be held at the Kenya International Convention Center (KICC) on Saturday, March 23.
Speaking at Pumwani social hall Hashim kamau chairman of the Nairobi city county sports management board says that they are glad to have sponsers like Sportpesa who have sponsored boxing equipment to boxers leaving in Majengo area.
“The boxing gym has not received any repairs or renovations for the past six years and we are glad for equipments sponsored by Sportpesa.”
Chairman Hashim Kamau says that the this initiative will enable youths to have something to engage in other than involving in crime because the hall was also where Zarika used to train as a boxer.
