KFCB’s partnership with South African counterparts fuels its mandate

The successful partnership between Kenya Film Classification Board and South African Film Board has fueled the effective execution of their mandate.

KFCB Boss Ezekiel Mutua has expressed the Board’s interest in enhancing it’s collaboration  with their South African counterparts in the wake of increased challenges on content regulation posed by new technologies.

KFCB and South African Film Board have had cordial and mutually beneficial collaboration that has seen the two institutions share experiences on their mandates, particularly on Child Online Safety.

As a result of our robust engagement and camaraderie, FPB andKFCBhave continued to shape international discourse on content regulation in the continent to promote African culture and values.

This collaboration was evident in the just concluded “Think Tank on Harmonisation of Content Regulation” at Sandton City, where South Africa and Kenya were elected Chair and Vice Chair respectively to head the African Film Content Standard Setting Steering Committee.

In the spirit of enhancing the collaboration. KFCB Boss Ezekiel Mutua held a crucial meeting with FPB management of South Africa at their offices in Centurion, Pretoria to review an MOU on collaboration between our two institutions signed in 2016.
