Eleven people have been confirmed dead after a trailer rammed into a fleet of cars, including Public Service Vehicles at Kikopey, Gilgil along Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The Friday morning accident has left victims trapped in wreckage and rescue operation is underway. Witnesses reveal that the trailer lost control while moving driving downhill hence hitting other vehicles and causing deaths and damage.
Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu confirmed that all the 11 passengers who were in the 2NK shuttle died on the spot.
The driver of the truck escaped while his turnboy suffered serious injuries.
According to Gilgil police boss Opuru emergency teams are headed to scene of accident.
