Why matatu passengers are well behaved compared to plane passengers

Common sense is not always common, they say.

As with any public travelling, there are certain rules of etiquette you’re expected to follow when flying.

Most of the time passengers won’t experience any problems when on a plane, but every now and then someone decides to forgo the etiquette and do something rather off-putting for those around them.

Some passengers have even narrated how they have witnessed notorious passengers masturbate while the planes is airborne, and even insult crew.

Recently on one journey, a few passengers decided to air out their wet swimming costumes and bikinis by hanging them over the headrests of seats on their flight.

And it’s fair to say many people were unimpressed by their behaviour.

A photo of the swimsuits was shared with the Instagram account Passenger Shaming, which has over 800,000 followers.

They captioned the post: “PRO TRAVEL TIP: If you have a wet bathing suit, or three – AIRPLANE HEADREST DRYER.”

More than 3,000 liked their post with many slamming the people who did this, complaining they would have made the plane smell of chlorine or even potentially urine.

One person wrote: “People are the worst.”

Another commented: “GROSS!!”

A third added: “The act alone is awful… but that guy sitting there, is that his laundry or is he just ok with someone’s dirty crotch swimsuit hanging over his tray table?

“I’d throw it on the floor over and over.”

However not everyone took issue with the swimsuits.

A different user defended the family, saying: “It’s a pretty empty flight. Looks like no one sitting in the row being used for laundry.”

A second person joked that at least it was better than them hanging a “dirty diaper” over the top of the seat.

Not everyone who travels on planes is quite so inconsiderate.

In case you needed to be reminded of that, one new mum recently made a very ‘touching’ gesture to 200 passengers on her flight.

The woman was worried about her baby crying on the long-haul trip and so made goodie bags up for all her fellow travellers.

The bags contained sweets, biscuits and an apology note.
